Whole House Renovation - From Kitchen to Bedroom

The kitchen in this Richmond whole house renovation project underwent a dramatic transformation, turning a dated and inefficient layout into a sleek and highly functional modern space. The original kitchen, although spacious, featured traditional white cabinetry, bulky appliances, and outdated tile flooring, which made the room feel cold and uninspired.

We began by completely reconfiguring the kitchen layout to maximize flow and usability. The old cabinetry and flooring were removed and replaced with custom flat-panel cabinets in a warm wood finish, combined with matte light grey upper cabinets for a clean, contemporary look. The countertops were upgraded to luxurious white marble with bold veining, adding both elegance and visual interest.

One of the key improvements was the addition of a large central island with waterfall edges, which now serves as both a prep area and an informal dining space. Integrated high-end appliances and under-cabinet lighting improve both the aesthetics and functionality of the kitchen. We also installed recessed lighting and a linear pendant light to enhance ambiance and clarity.

The transformation is more than cosmetic—it’s also practical. Storage has been significantly increased with the use of full-height pantry units, and the new layout improves circulation and sightlines between the kitchen and adjacent living areas. This kitchen is now a showpiece of the home, combining beauty and function to meet the demands of modern living.
